The MOFI Real Estate Investment Fund (MREIF) is a crucial part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope plan. It was established under the One Million Homes Housing Project to address Nigeria's estimated shortfall of 28 million housing units.
This initiative aims to provide a sustainable solution to the country's housing crisis by catalyzing the housing market through accessible financing options, thereby facilitating the construction and sale of affordable homes across Nigeria. MREIF targets low-and middle-income earners, ensuring that affordable housing is within reach for a significant portion of the population.
Purpose of MREIF
The primary purpose of the MOFI Real Estate Investment Fund (MREIF) is to provide long-term, low-cost mortgages designed to enable the sale of homes until we achieve 1 million homes. By offering accessible financing options, MREIF aims to address the significant housing deficit in Nigeria, ensuring that affordable housing becomes a reality for many Nigerian citizens by enhancing affordability and the ease of housing delivery.
